FLAKE SYSTEM 40 LB BOX
The Flake System offers a natural look for your epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, and urethane floor coating system. Flake Chips are broadcast into a colored epoxy, polyurea, polyaspartic or urethane base-coat. Flake Chips are sold in 40 lb. boxes. How much to use depends on the look desired. The more flakes used the less you see of the base coat color and more you see the flakes.
APPLICATIONS
For a partial broadcast: Apply one box of flakes per 400-2,000 square feet.
For full broadcast (Most Common) it takes substantially more, approximately 5-7 square feet per pound of flake. So one box of flake (40 lbs) will cover approximately 200-250 square feet depending how thick you apply the base coat of epoxy. We suggest spreading the base coat at 100-150 square feet per gallon, then broadcast flake to refusal at the rate of 200-225 square feet per box of flake.
Full broadcast means flakes are applied so heavy that the coating can’t absorb anymore and they are sitting on the surface without any shiny or wet spots visible.

Orders for 1/8" flakes or other specialty flake blends may need to be special ordered from the manufacturer. The manufacturer typically requires one business day for processing, which can delay your order beyond our standard shipping times.
